Basketball always held a special place in the Nebeker household in Melba. It was a family event, a way of bonding, the sport of choice for John and Kelly’s three children.
In the spring of 2007, it became much more for Joey, the youngest of the Nebeker children. The court became a place of peace, a welcome distraction for a seventh-grader dealing with an unimaginable loss.

After two weeks of voting, Clark Wilkinson, a junior from Highland, was selected the pre-season 5A Player of the Year by our voters with 50% of the votes.
