20 Idaho Select players in state tournament

Registration deadline is March 5

In what is believed to be the most players by any club team in Idaho history, 20 players that have played for Idaho Select in 2010 in the spring and/or summer will compete in this year’s Idaho High School State Tournament. 5A District III Championship Game

When you look back at the 5A District III title game, two things that may have seemed to be small pieces to this game’s puzzle were possibly the biggest factors of all.

First, Borah’s Austin Scott was not in the line up. Second, Centennial’s Nick Saras would match up on defense with Borah’s biggest offensive threat, Ben Tucakovic.

Seven Idaho Select players named all-stars

Congrats to the seven Idaho Select seniors that were selected to the 2011 Idaho All-Star Game at North Idaho College. Matt Kalbfleisch (Lewiston), Alex Duncan (Boise), Ben Bopp (Century), Daved Gillmor (Eagle), Tyson Percifield (Mountain View), Marcus Graham (Timberline) and Faruk Huskic (Centennial).

Despite 31 points from Skurdal and Bruneel, Rocky Mountain season comes to an end; Percifield (Mountain View) scores 17 but 41 points from Maffey, Manning and Huskic put the Patriots into state; Graham scores 19 but Timberline will have to win one more to make state; Mortensen and Bennett combine for 30 points to keep Middleton alive

Borah vs. Timberline

For the Borah Lions, Jeremy Jones and Jordan Wright got them off to a great start, hitting big shots and making all the right passes. Timberline struggled to get any good looks. By halftime Borah was up 25-13 at halftime. The lone bright spot for the Wolves was Marcus Graham, who scored 9 of the team’s 13 points. He would finish with 19.
